A small assortment of drawings I made this month.. The two first ones are for a couple of battlethreads, which sort of explains the aggressive tone. I'm really not that violent of a guy.

Lurking in the shadows

Made this really quick for my sister who is an international crime fighter, and was in desperate need of an image that says 'international crime'. And nothing says 'international crime' like a criminal next to a motherfucking globe, y'know what i'm sayin'

Silence is egg

Drew this. No clue what the idea behind it is. Was for a competition where someone was looking for a tattoo on his lower leg and I figured I could do something random but kinda cool looking. (talking about tattoos.. i haven't forgotten you appa!)

Not Sinterklaas

Whoo, another update! This time the start of what might become a returning feature: portraits of physicists with their discovery incorporated in one way or another. Although this first one isn't really a physicist, but an actor playing one. Bram van der Vlugt is a dutch actor who was interviewed about his role as Niels Bohr in "Copenhagen".

Dilemmas

Wasn't really happy with the fineliners i've been using and wanted to buy some new ones, when i thought 'hey why not go all the way and start using crowquills'. So that's what I did, and here's my first drawing with it. They're not really positioned like this, but i like the symmetry.

Straight lines, curved lines

In my quest to try out overdone stuff, I did this little perspective drawing over'ere. The cast shadows were drawn without thinking about any particular lightsource, so yeah, they don't make sense.

The day giant babyheaded shrimp descended from the sky

This is another sketch for a sketchtheater contest.. The theme is "Alien Invasion", so I drew a baby-meets-shrimp kind of creature, hanging from the sky. I'll probably touch up a bit here and there before I send it in, but here's a sneak preview for my loyal readers ;)

Another head/another singer

This time the victim is Jesse Lacey. I wish I hadn't just start somewhere on the page, but I guess I did, so now there's a chin missing.

Eating books

If only studying was this easy. Not that I have ever tried eating a book before, but seriously, how hard could it be?

Drawings on the interwebs

Looking around the internet for forums with people who draw, I found a thread where people posted pictures of themselves for others to draw (which then could be posted in another thread). I thought this would be fun and drew something, but I haven't gotten around posting it because I don't think it's on par with the other stuff over there (It doesn't look anything like it's source). Anyway, here it is.

Faces from pictures

After noticing my last sketch featured a fairly um.. ugly headed person, I've made a plan to try and draw more faces from photographs, to hopefully get a better understanding of what makes a face work/fail miserably. Anyway, here's my first, +1 for the person who sees who it's supposed to be.

Hello world! again. It was my intention to write a small piece about this blog, but it's probably better if I just shut up and draw more so I can show it.. to the world!

It's weird how you only realize after scanning sketchbookpages in how cluttered they really are..


I'm pretty sure I stole the idea of a tree growing out of someones head from somewhere, but I guess all ideas are stolen from something.
